“The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth will ever be.”
-Konrad Lorenz
We have created this page to honour our heart dogs who no longer live except in our hearts.
“Once you’ve had a wonderful dog,
a life without one
is a life diminished.”
Dean Koontz
OBI
~2018 to March 4, 2024
This sensitive, kind boy was adopted from Ridgebacks in Need by Caylee Rebozzi on March 1, 2022. Two years was not long enough, but it didn’t take any time at all to make himself a permanent part of Caylee’s heart. Obi’s great size alone made his presence always known, but it was his unwavering loyalty to Caylee that sealed her love for him. He was her shadow from day one, monitoring her every move, worrying about her when she wasn’t feeling well, wanting to be involved in whatever she was doing, and always bestowing much love. A gentle giant who made his mom the core of his universe, Obi was truly a guardian of her soul. It is most certain that his eyes are still on her. Rest in peace, handsome boy.
Bodega
Bodega was born August 1, 2010 and gained his wings on May 18, 2023. It only took one meeting when he was just four weeks old for Meghan to fall in love with him, and they shared that deep bond for his nearly 13 years. Bodega was the most gentle, sweet, and devoted companion a person could wish for. He was loved and spoiled beyond measure and is missed every single day.
Meghan has made a donation in heartfelt memory of her boy with the very special ridge, who will not be forgotten.
RUBY
A donation was made by Heidi celebrating the decade-long bond between Glory and her best friend, Ruby. So many adventures, so much joy! Ruby with her free-spiritedness, confidence and kangaroo-bounciness opened up her friend to enjoying life more fully. The two made a beautiful team. Ruby was so very loved by her family, Carole and John Larson and their kids, Audrey and Quinn, and little sister Ridgeback Penny. Ruby’s love and loyalty to her family will be missed always. What a wonderful life she had! A dog couldn’t be more loved. Play hard, Ruby-Ru.

JENNA
~ Northstar’s Footprints in Gold ~ 6/12/2011 - 8/19/2023 ~
A donation was made by Heidi in honor of one of the sweetest dogs she’s ever known. Jenna was a quiet, gentle dog and is much missed by Carol and Jerry Vesely, who truly adored her. Jenna’s pleasant demeanor and easygoing presence will never be forgotten. She was an angel then, and is an angel now. Jenna was Glory’s sister; these special girls are together again, with all who went before them. We love you, Jenny.
GLORY
~ Northstar’s Have I Told You Lately ~ 6/12/2011 - 6/21/2023 ~
Loving donation in memory of Glory, Heidi’s heart and soul partner. Run free, Glory. We will miss you so very much. ~ Carol Vesely, Glory’s other mother
Donations also made in Glory’s honor by Lisa Stein and Cathy Scott.
Glory meant the world to Heidi, and was her motivation in becoming a part of the RINCAL team and rescue world. Every dog deserves as much love! Glory also was key in socializing a LOT of RINCAL puppies over the past few years. She was truly Heidi’s once in a lifetime girl.
BAYLA
A heartfelt and thankful donation has been made by Heidi in honor of Bayla, a true gentleman who was rightfully adored during his final years of life. Bayla is a RINCAL dog, and came to us heartworm positive. His loving foster mother, Jenny Oh, and her family fell in love with him and nurtured him back to health. Bayla was catered to for the following two-and-a-half years. We will always be grateful to Jenny, her husband and sons and Bayla’s Ridgeback brother Toby for making him feel loved and safe and cared for. He knew he was home as soon as he got there. Run free, Bayla! You are a good boy. ~2010 - 7/28/2023
Pharaoh
In Loving Memory of our wonderful grand-dog, Pharaoh Jackman Carino. Pharaoh was a special soul. He was loved by everyone. He was Danielle and Glen’s adventure buddy, traveling everywhere with them. Deeply loved and truly a member of our whole family. Forever loved and greatly missed.
Roxy and Obi
When Roxy met Obi, they had a beach romp and then some cool ice cream. Both Roxy and Obi are no longer with us and Roxy’s dad Doug recently passed away, too. We thank all three for what they left with us: memories and love, LOTS of love.
Bromley
Born 11-23-08, crossed the Bridge 11-03-22. My heart, my BooBoo. Everyone and every animal that ever met you knew the pure love of a dog. Thank you for teaching me how to show a Champion. And thank you for giving me your beautiful daughter Rho. I see you in her face every day. I will never stop missing or loving you my incomparable Brom. Until I hold you in my arms again.
Always loved and forever missed by Cindi Pike.
*Special note from Rincal: On the exact day that Bromley left Cindi, a new dog came into rescue. Phoenix came to us in worse shape than any dog in recent history, and has needed much care and medical attention. A special donation was made by Cindi to Phoenix, in honor of Bromley. Very fitting, and very much appreciated.
